Down Syndrome
Most children with Down Syndrome have varying degrees of developmental disability and some have none at all.  They have typical facial features and may have thyroid, stomach, and heart problems that can be corrected with medication and surgeryEarly intervention has a great impact on children with Down Syndrome and careful medical monitoring can identify conditions such as underactive thyroid that, when corrected, can improve their overall functioning.
